Comic Potential
A comedy by Alan Ayckbourn

This hilarious and heartbreaking play is set in a foreseeable future world when everything has changed except human nature. A future where TV daytime soaps are performed by android actors, emotionally programmed by the control room. One such android finds herself humanised (even complete with a sense of humour) and Adam, a young scriptwriter, falls for her with consequences.

Abigail's Party
A satire by Mike Leigh

This is a very popular play which has been performed by many companies both in London and the provinces. The play is a wicked social satire on lower-middle class suburbia. Beverly is entertaining new neighbours. The evening's initial good-will, cliches and fatuous small-talk only serve to create a rising tension which finally snaps with a dramatic denouement

Humble Boy
A drama by Charlotte Jones

All is not well in the Humble hive. Felix Humble is a Cambridge astro-physicist in search of the unified theory of existence. Following the sudden death of his bee-keeping father, Felix returns home to his difficult and demanding mother, where he soon realizes that his search for unity must extend to include his own chaotic home life. Although classed as a drama this play has magical lighter moments, which are profound and amusing as the story unfolds.

The Railway Children
by E Nesbit adapted by Dave Simpson

This is another challenging project under taken by our Junior Members.

This story has become a classic, which has been read and loved by successive generations of children the world over. The adaptation by Dave Simpson is imaginatively brought to life for a modern audience whilst losing nothing of its original spirit of humour, adventure and the final triumph of good over evil.

Fawlty Towers
a comedy by John Cleese and Connie Booth

The Westovians have had a difficult choice to make from the twelve original episodes of Fawlty Towers. It has been a case of 'which episodes do we leave out?'  Who can forget the irascible Basil, his long-suffering wife Sybil and poor down trodden Manuel? We have chosen four episodes 'A Touch of Class', 'The Hotel Inspectors', 'Communication Problems' and 'Waldorf Salad' and we hope you will enjoy them all.
