A Midsummer Night's
Dream
An abridged adaptation of Shakespeare's celebrated
work
One of the great classics of all time, a witty, lighthearted, magical
fantasy and a wonderful introduction to the works of 'The Bard' - A truly
ambitious venture for our Junior
Section
21st. to 26th.September 2009 Comic Potential This hilarious and heartbreaking play is set in a foreseeable future
world when everything has changed except human nature. A future where TV daytime
soaps are performed by android actors, emotionally programmed by the control
room. One such android finds herself humanised (even complete with a sense of
humour) and Adam, a young scriptwriter, falls for her with consequences.
9th. to 14th. November 2009 The Westovians tradition of entertainment for all the family continues
this season with that well loved tale of the 'village lad making his mark in the
world'. All the familiar characters are here and once again, as in the
tradition, the good guys outwit the baddies! Come along and enter into the
magical world of fairy tale, laugh at the comedy, cry at the pathos, love the
Cat and leave knowing that everyone lives happily ever after - every
year.
All is not well in the Humble hive. Felix Humble is a Cambridge
astro-physicist in search of the unified theory of existence. Following the
sudden death of his bee-keeping father, Felix returns home to his difficult and
demanding mother, where he soon realizes that his search for unity must extend
to include his own chaotic home life. Although classed as a drama this play has
magical lighter moments, which are profound and amusing as the story unfolds.
____________________________________________ This is another challenging project under taken by our Junior
Members. This story has become a classic, which has been read and loved by
successive generations of children the world over. The adaptation by Dave
Simpson is imaginatively brought to life for a modern audience whilst losing
nothing of its original spirit of humour, adventure and the final triumph of
good over evil. A Team from Crescent TV is filming a documentary about ghosts at Renfield
Hall. A heavy lamp mysteriously falls from its stand injuring a technician and
shortly afterwards blood appears on the portrait of a young beauty murdered at
the Hall in Victorian Times. This is a ghostly murder thriller, which delivers
frightening drama and unexpected twists along the way.
The Westovians have had a difficult choice to make from the twelve
original episodes of Fawlty Towers. It has been a case of 'which episodes do we
leave out?' Who can forget the
irascible Basil, his long-suffering wife Sybil and poor down trodden Manuel? We
have chosen four episodes 'A Touch of Class', 'The Hotel Inspectors',
'Communication Problems' and 'Waldorf Salad' and we hope you will enjoy them
all.
